How we check
One wrong stall count costs a driver an hour. So every station fact on this site has a source and the date we checked it, and anything we couldn't confirm says so.
Sources, in order of authority
- The network's own locator. Tesla, Electrify America, EVgo, IONNA, Rivian Adventure Network, ChargePoint, bp pulse, Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging, and Walmart. These decide stall count, maximum kW, who can use the site, and price.
- The U.S. Department of Energy station database (Alternative Fuels Data Center). We use it to find every DC fast site in each stop town so nothing is missed. Where it disagrees with the network, the network wins and we show the disagreement.
- Driver reports from Reddit, PlugShare, owner forums, and X. These tell us about broken stalls, waits, and new sites. Each one is quoted briefly, linked, and dated.
- Third-party aggregators are leads only. We follow them back to a primary source and never cite them.
Rules
- Every station fact has a source link and a check date.
- We give kW and stall counts. We don't label sites "fast" or "slow."
- When sources disagree, we show both or mark the fact unverified.
- Nothing is filled in by guesswork. Unknowns say "Not yet verified."
- Every Tesla site is marked either Tesla only or open to all EVs.
What the labels mean
- Verified
- Checked on the network's own locator on the date shown.
- Sources conflict
- The network and the DOE database disagree. We show the network's number and note the other.
- Not yet verified
- From the DOE database or a driver report only. We haven't confirmed it with the operator yet.
- Not published by network
- The network doesn't publish this on its locator, usually price. Check its app.
- Tesla only
- Tesla vehicles only, per Tesla.
- Open to all EVs
- Tesla lists the site as open to other EVs. CCS cars need a NACS adapter.
How often we re-check
- Featured routes: weekly.
- All other routes: monthly.
- Custom plans: every stop, right before we send the plan.
Prices change by time of day and by network plan. A price on this site is what the network showed on the check date.
